The Bearcat WX100 Weather Radio with Alert features the 7 NOAA Weather
Channels which allows the user to select the active frequency in their
given area. The S.A.M.E. Weather Alert (Specific Area Message Encoding)
Allows you to narrow down the warning area to a single county. The WX100
will be able to alert the user through test messages, alert tones, and the
actual weather broadcast from NOAA. The backlit LCD display allows you
to preview the channels being scanned and the frequency entered into
each channel for enhanced night visibility. The alarm clock features a
large LCD readout which enables the unit to also be used on a nightstand
as a handy alarm clock. The unit features a 9 volt battery backup, which
provides back-up protection in the event of a power failure (battery is not
included). Additionally optional equipments such as an external speaker,
external antenna and external alert terminal can be added to upgrade the
system.
