Here is the world's first base/mobile 800 Trunk Tracking scanner. This
300 channel radio will follow conversations through Motorola Trunked
radio systems operating in the 800 MHz band. It will not work on
900 MHz and 400 MHz trunked systems. It can be used as a conventional
scanner or a trunked following scanner, but will not do both at the
same time. In the trunked mode you will be able to listen to the
various subfleets within the system. You can only listen to one system
at a time but there is room to store 10 systems. Additionally you
can store up to 50 sub-fleet codes per system. The scanner will
only work on Mortorola systems including Type I, II and IIi.
Some features include 300 channels (standard mode) 500 sub-fleets in
trunked mode, trunk search, trunk lockout, trunk delay, one touch
weather, weather alert, turbo scan (100 channels per second), built
in CTCSS (tone board included!), RS232 port, allows computer control
of the scanner via optional hardware, VFO control, signal strength
meter, auxillary tape output, automatic store and much more.
The Radio Shack model comes in a plastic case as compared to the sturdy
metal case on the BC 895. Additionally there is no way to computer
control the R.S. Model. The BC 895 also has a one year limited
warranty.
