     The Oregon Scientific WR 8000 is ideal for traveling or for anyone     
who needs to be prepared for the great outdoors.  It monitors the U.S.      
Emergency Alert System and broadcasts 24-hour local weather forecasts,      
travel conditions and automatically provides severe weather warnings.       
     This is a compact (2.5" wide by 6.5" high) portable unit that          
receives regional and localized warnings about severe weather and           
other emergencies affecting public safety.  It is a rugged, yellow,         
water-resistant radio that's ideal for use while traveling, in              
recreational vehicles and by campers, fishermen, hunters, hikers, skiers    
and all other outdoor enthusiasts.                                          
     The radio incorporates a variety of special features geared to         
outdoor use, including a built-in analog compass.  It also features an      
ambient temperature display on its backlit LCD panel with an audible/       
visual freeze warning alert when temperatures reach about 37 degrees        
(f).  The digital display incorporates a clock with an alarm and snooze     
feature.  The unit has a belt clip and built-in desktop stand.  It          
operates on three AA batteries.
