Maxon's Family Radio Service radios have been field tested (in fact our
test results showed we were able to easily get 1/2 mile between the
handheld radios). The radios operate with 1/2 watt on one of 14
licensee-free channels. They are easily programmed with a simple
dip switch method. The radios are easy to use, palm-sized and perfect
for any family member. Dual color LED indicates transmission or
battery low condition. Belt clip and screw in antenna are included.
The radios transmit on UHF in FM mode ensuring clear communications
without any noise or static. The transceivers run on standard AAA
batteries or rechargable ni-cad batteries. Batteries and charging
unit are not included. When bought in pairs, the combination costs
only $181.00 catalog or $175.00 cash discount
