Nat-Com Quick Frequency Search

National Communications Magazine is America's number one Scanner/CB and two way radio magazine.  It is the only one that comes with multiple databases featuring frequencies from across the U.S. , Canada and beyond.

Our authors have had years of experience in monitoring the airwaves, many of them are ham radio operators, or professionals in some sort of radio communications.

Hobby Radio Stop We are the nation's leading provider of scanner radios to both commercial and private users.  In business since 1990, we pride ourselves in making sure our customers know what they are getting before they ever order it.  Our years of experience in working with Uniden, RadioShack, GRE, Cobra and many other large radio companies give us the experience and knowledge one should expect of a company dealing in the sales of scanners, CB's and other communications receivers.  We have provided customer service for both Uniden and RadioShack and know that we must have been doing something right when people who have bought scanners or other electronics "some place else" call us for help.  Remember it is not just the price on the equipment, although we do our best to remain the lowest in the country, but also the hands on customer service we provide.  Directing someone to a web site  to read FAQ's or join some sort of forum in order to get help, is not our idea of customer service

Let us program your radio for you. If you have bought a new scanner and find it difficult to program, you are not alone.  We receive calls from thousands of consumers each year who have gone into a store and purchased a scanner and now are facing the daunting task of trying to figure out how to program the radio.  Usually the sales person does not know any more about the radio than does the consumer.  The customer service provided on the phone or on-line is close to non-existent.  Instead the customer may be pointed to a web page to read FAQ's, or download a sample software program.  Of course they do not tell you that you must also purchase a programming cable for your radio.  Now you have the price of the radio, the cable that is good for only 7 days unless you want to pay the price of the full program (not a good idea), and may still not be able to understand the program in order to set up your scanner.  We have an affordable and proven way to program your radio.  Send it to us and we will set it up with your local frequencies and when you get it back all you will need to do is turn the radio on.  Now, finally you are getting some use out of that expensive radio you paid for without buying a lot of other stuff you will never need!  Click on the scanner picture to find out more.

Scancat/ Mr. Scanner Combo Software Package If you feel more at ease at your your computer than at a scanner, then the Scancat Mr. Scanner Combo software is probably the best programming choice for you.  The software programs over 60 models of radios from Uniden/Bearcat, RadioShack, GRE, MFJ and Alinco.  It is very easy to use once you learn the basic programming process.  The work page looks much like an Excel spread sheet format.  In addition to the programming software itself, the CD also comes with the Mr. Scanner Public Safety CD for the current year.  Mr. Scanner has evolved from the Betty Bearcat CD, which came out of the Betty Bearcat Frequency Directories and Fox Scanner Listings.  The author was the first person to get a frequency database to move from the book form to the electronic format.  Additionally there are over 5,000 files of pre-made files (including trunking systems) by county.  These files can be used as a template to construct the frequency database just the way you want it.  It is a simple matter of point, click and drag, then tell the software to program your scanner.  Then you are up and running.  Click on the CD picture for more information on the Scancat/Mr. Scanner Combo Software Package.
